Council Moves Ahead With Drone Program as Budget Talks Continue

Chambersburg Borough Manager Jeffrey Stonehill reported following Monday night’s Town Council meeting that Council agreed to fund a new drone program for the Chambersburg Police Department.

Stonehill also said the police chief and fire chief completed their 2027 budget presentations. He described both departments as facing significant technology and staffing needs as borough officials continue working through the proposed budget.

The Borough had not yet posted final meeting minutes confirming the action when this Brief was prepared, so Franklin County Life is attributing these details to Stonehill’s public update.
