Council to Revisit Rental-Inspection Proposal Tonight

Mercersburg Borough Council is scheduled to reconsider the form of its proposed rental-property ordinance during tonight’s 7 p.m. meeting at James Buchanan Middle School.

The published agenda calls for discussion of repealing the current proposed ordinance format and scheduling landlord-and-tenant workshops for further discussion. The draft unveiled earlier this month would have created registration, licensing and inspection requirements for residential rental units.

No repeal or replacement has been approved. The agenda describes a discussion and possible next steps; any action taken tonight must be confirmed after the meeting.
